Rolando's Taco Shop Reviews

Been here lots of times. Every time is excellent! First time order Pollo asado fries. Normally comes with cheese and guacamole but I added extra cheese, sour cream and pico... DELICIOUS!!! massive amount of food!

When you go to San Diego you get Mexican food. This place was near where I was visiting so I thought I would give it a try. It was really good!! Carne asada fries were great!! The red sauce was extremely hot though. I couldn't enjoy my fries but if anyone likes hot sauce that's really hot, you should give it a try. The fries were perfect, not thick, which takes away the taste of carne asada fries if they're thick. They have a drive thru but we sat and ate. Only outdoor seating and most of it is in the sun. I wish I could go back but I was only in San Diego for one day.

Just as good as most sit-down Maexican restaurants and good prices...John in Kensington

Food was fresh, portions were generous and service was fast and pleasant. Random unstable homeless people kept walking by while we were in the drive thru. A bit unnerving as you never know if they will get violent.

I went there for a Cali burrito con crema because I've heard wonderful things about it. Ordered that, a Chile Verde burrito for my bf, shared rolled tacos with guac n cheese no lechuga, and a bean and cheese burrito add crema. Bf loved his burrito, rolled tacos delicious and bean and cheese amazing. Was so full didn't get to the Cali burrito yet. Burritos are huge and worth the price. This will be my new go-to

Life changing carne asada burrito! Huge portions, great value.

First of all, still one of the more affordable taco shops. The price is about 1-2 lower than most taco shops. There is a cash 'discount' and the fee for using credit card is 3.99% which isn't too bad compared to other places charging 0.50 to 0.80 per transaction nowadays. Delicious food but could have had a bit more/bigger shrimp and it's not really a sit-in restaurant so them having 8 parking spot will at least guarantee you a table outside the drive thru for sure.

They have the basics down. I tried Rolando‘s after an arduous trip to Home Depot. I was hungry but I didn’t want my wife to know I ate out so I figured I would just grab a little something so that I could have lunch with her. I went with a quesadilla and added guacamole. I think the trademark of a good taco shop is not how they can make a 12 burrito but how they can make the most basic items like the quesadilla. If they are willing to spend time and energy on making a good 6 quesadilla then you know the rest of their food should be good. My quesadilla came out super fast and the service was excellent. The tortilla had bits of crispiness but was still warm and soft like a pillow. I could tell right away that the cheese wasn’t your usual, upon opening up I realize they used a cheese blend and it was perfect. The guacamole was good and spread evenly across the entire quesadilla, some places just put it on the side. The hot sauce was good as well. The place is a classic San Diego drive-through taco shop with a walk up window. No indoor seating by a generous amount of tables outside with shade. Everything was very clean and the tables were well-kept. This is an excellent taco shop, well worth your time if you are in the area.
